Short Biography

Dr. Ching-Chou Fu received his Ph.D. in Geosciences from National Taiwan University in 2012 and has been an Assistant Research Fellow at the Institute of Earth Sciences, Academia Sinica, since 2018. His research focuses on gas and fluid geochemistry in tectonically and volcanically active environments, particularly the origins, migration pathways, and temporal variations of crustal gases and fluids. His current studies integrate soil CO2 flux, radon, noble gases, stable isotopes, groundwater geochemistry, and multidisciplinary geophysical observations to investigate fault-zone degassing, earthquake-related fluid processes, and volcanic activity.

He has served on the International Committee of the International Conference on Gas Geochemistry (ICGG) since 2015 and the Professional Committee of Gas Geochemistry of the Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry since 2019, and has been a Bureau Member of EMSEV since 2024. He also served as Lead Guest Editor of the International Journal of Earth Sciences Special Collection “New Perspectives and Applications of Gas Geochemistry.” He has authored or co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications in gas geochemistry and related fields.
