裂变径迹测试分析实验室由两部分构成:单矿物分选及样品制备和裂变径迹测试分析。实验室的主要设备有破碎和研磨仪JC6、DP100、摇床、Frantz LB-1磁选仪、体视显微镜、标乐研磨抛光机MetaServ 250、澳大利亚AUTOSCAN公司生产的裂变径迹分析仪TRAKSCAN PLUS DELUXE。实验室目前侧重于三大岩类的无污染碎样、矿物分选(主要针对磷灰石和锆石)、光薄片的备、磷灰石裂变径迹测试分析。观测数据包括径迹密度和长度及与C轴夹角、Dpar及晶体形态,并进行年龄计算或热历史模拟。可解决山体隆升剥露、沉积物源示踪、地层年龄限定、盆地热演化历史、断层活动及性质等方面的年代学问题。
